Multimodal Freight Train Linking Shaanxi with Yangtze River Delta Launched to Support Regional Development
Yesterday (November 3), a multimodal freight train service linking Shaanxi with the Yangtze River Delta was launched, creating a new railway logistics channel to facilitate cargo and trade between the northwest inland region and the Yangtze River Delta and to support coordinated regional economic development. In the early hours of November 3, train X9726, carrying 40 containers of polyvinyl chloride, departed from Xi'an International Port Station, marking the successful launch of the first Shaanxi-to-Yangtze River Delta multimodal freight train. According to reports, the service uses a rail-road multimodal model, with destination stations covering 11 stops including Huzhou West, Hangzhou North, Wenzhou West, Taizhou South, and Suzhou West, reaching the core industrial belt of the Yangtze River Delta in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces. The train consolidates scattered cargo sources and leverages the advantages of railways, including large capacity, low cost, and all-weather operation. Its flexible and efficient operating model can accommodate companies' differentiated shipping needs. The service establishes an efficient logistics channel connecting the northwest inland region with the Yangtze River Delta, accelerating commercial exchanges and industrial linkage between the northwest and East China.
