How aiqbench treats publishers, readers and the model
Trust
Every claim on this page names the column, flag or file behind it, so it cannot drift from what the code does.
Four licence tiers
Each feed source carries a licence tier in the database. The tier decides what we store, what we show and what the model may read. FeedSource.licenseTier
openOpen57 sources
Open licence (Creative Commons, public domain, or explicit permission). Full text is stored and shown; the model may read it.
for example: AI Alignment Forum, AI Now Institute, Allen Institute for AI (Ai2), AMD ROCm Blogs, Anthropic News, Apple ML Research
rss_onlyRSS only138 sources
Headline, summary and link from the feed. The page body is stored for the model but readers see at most 200 words and 10% of it; the full text stays on the publisher's site.
for example: 1Password, 1X Technologies News, 36Kr, AIwire, Alan Turing Institute News, Alibaba DAMO Academy
rss_conditionalRSS, conditional14 sources
Publishers whose terms discourage automated use. Read as RSS only; shown as a summary with a link out. The owner chose to keep these sources on knowing the terms — the choice is recorded in the project notes, not hidden.
for example: Ars Technica, HPCwire — Quantum (Google News), MIT News – Quantum Computing, MIT Technology Review, Nature Computational Science, Nature Machine Intelligence
blockedBlocked0 sources
Not crawled, not stored, not shown. A blocked item answers 404 even when linked directly.
for example: none at the moment
What the model may do
It does
- writes the aiqbench take and the day's digest, labelled as ours
- sorts stories into categories and extracts quantum funding and hardware milestones into review queues
- answers questions in Ask with citations to the articles it read
It never
- rewrites, paraphrases as the publisher, or republishes a publisher's text
- invents a confidence score — the gauges on the site count publishers covering a story
- runs without a kill switch: enrichment (LLM_ENRICHMENT_ENABLED), crawling (PAGE_CRAWL_ENABLED) and Ask (ASK_DISABLED) can each be turned off by a flag
Switches and identity, as observed
The workers run in their own containers, so this page does not read their configuration — it reports what they did in the last 24 hours from the run log. Ask reads the app's own switch.
- LLM enrichment
NewsItem.ourTake · 14,400 · 24 h - on
- Page crawling (bodies)
NewsItem.body · 101 · 24 h - on
- Ask across articles
ASK_DISABLED=false (app) - on
- Crawler user agent
- TechPulseBot/1.0 (+https://techpulse.ro/crawler)
- TechPulse is aiqbench's former name; the crawler still identifies with it.
- robots.txt is honoured for every page fetch; per-host delays apply.
