generative-thinking
From the author
Break out of a locked problem frame by picking one disciplined move — reframe, provocation (Po), random stimulus, SCAMPER, inversion, structured analogy, constraint play, or family traversal — and committing to it before evaluating. Use when stuck, when options feel narrow or obvious, when iterations produce variations of the same idea, or when the user says "widen this", "break out of", "think differently", "I'm stuck", "feels too obvious", "stress-test the framing", "what am I missing", or holds two related examples and asks what lies between or beyond them. Complements challenging (which evaluates) and convening-experts (which synthesizes viewpoints); this skill generates distance, not judgment.

- thinking-partnermattnowdev/thinking-partnerA deterministic thinking partner that challenges assumptions and applies mental models to sharpen decisions, solve problems, and think more clearly. Use this skill whenever a user says "help me think through X", "challenge my thinking", "what am I missing", "apply mental models to this", "play devil's advocate", "stress test this idea", "poke holes in my plan", "help me decide between X and Y", "what are the second-order effects", "I'm stuck on a decision", names any specific model (SWOT, first principles, inversion, pre-mortem, etc.), or asks for structured reasoning on any ambiguous, high-stakes, or complex problem. Also trigger when the user seems uncertain, is rationalizing, or is asking "am I thinking about this right?" Even casual phrases like "what do you think about..." on non-trivial topics should trigger this skill.Testing★ 219
- thought-partnerjeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplaceCollaborative thinking partner for exploring ideas, challenges, and decisions. Use when the user needs to analyze ambiguity, test assumptions, or compare options. Trigger with "think through", "explore", "brainstorm", "help me figure out", or an open-ended strategy or priority question.Testing★ 2.9K
- sparring-partnerQinghongLin/data2story-skillThis skill should be used whenever the user wants to develop, refine, or stress-test an idea, plan, design, research direction, product/business concept, argument, or any decision with more than one reasonable path — i.e. whenever they want a thinking partner rather than a quick answer. Trigger it when the user says things like "let's brainstorm", "help me think through this", "poke holes in my idea", "be my devil's advocate", "roast this idea", "challenge my assumptions", "sanity-check my plan", "what am I missing?", "I have a rough idea for…", or shares a half-baked concept and wants to make it better — even if they never use the word "brainstorm". It makes Claude a rigorous, anti-sycophantic sparring partner that researches just-in-time, drives the idea through Frame → Diverge → Converge → Pressure-test → Decide, asks sharp questions, and refuses to rubber-stamp. Do NOT use it for simple factual lookups, well-defined tasks with one correct answer, or when the user just wants direct execution of a clear insTesting★ 158
- idea-refineaddyosmani/agent-skillsRefines raw ideas into sharp, actionable concepts through structured divergent and convergent thinking. Use when an idea is still vague, when you need to stress-test assumptions before committing to a plan, or when you want to expand options before converging on one. Triggers on "ideate", "refine this idea", or "stress-test my plan".Testing★ 110.3K
- lateraldanium/lateral-thinkingLateral thinking toolkit router — when you're stuck, going in circles, need fresh ideas, or standard brainstorming keeps producing predictable results, this diagnoses the symptom and applies the right technique from the toolkit (random-stimulus, provocation, inversion, concept-fan, analogy, scamper, six-hats, worst-idea). Triggers include "lateral thinking", "I'm stuck on a creative problem", "we're going in circles", "need fresh ideas", "try a different angle", "break out of the box", "ideas all feel the same", "predictable brainstorm". Do NOT use for analytical work like debugging, code review, or implementation tasks.Planning★ 328
- personal-boardroomFAIRY123456789/human-edge-agent-skillsStress-test a difficult career, startup, study, money, product, or life decision through a small board of explicit decision lenses, then synthesize one evidence-weighted recommendation. Use when the user is torn between options, has several identities or goals in conflict, keeps receiving contradictory advice, or wants more than a generic trade-off list.Testing★ 100
