skill-authoring
From the author
Author, audit, and improve Grafana SKILL.md files against Anthropic's published Agent Skills guidance and the four-dimension rubric the grafana/skills CI gate uses (conciseness, actionability, workflow clarity, progressive disclosure). Applies the canonical SKILL.md structure (YAML frontmatter + body + references/ + scripts/ + assets/), the "pushy description" trigger pattern, the three-level progressive-disclosure model, and the validate-fix-rerun feedback loop. Use when creating a new skill in this repo, when reviewing a skill PR, when a skill's Tessl review score is below 75 (the merge gate), when a skill's description isn't getting picked up by agents, when restructuring a long SKILL.md into a bundle, or when the user asks how to write, improve, optimize, audit, or fix a skill - even if they don't say "skill" explicitly (e.g. "this isn't triggering", "Tessl scored this 72", "split this doc").
Install
npx skills add grafana/skills --skill skill-authoring -a claude-code
Installs to .claude/skills/skill-authoring/ · Each command fetches the skill straight from GitHub with the open skills CLI.
Byte-identical to the scanned commit, with the repository’s licence and a SOURCE.txt.

Why 91
aiqbench computes the trust score from public signals. It is not a security audit, so read a skill before you install it.

- open-knowledge-write-skillinkeep/open-knowledgeUse when the user wants to create, author, write, or design a new Agent Skill (a SKILL.md) — for OpenKnowledge or for their editors — including requests like 'help me write a skill', 'make a skill that…', 'turn this workflow into a skill', or improving an existing skill's triggering and discipline. Also use when capturing reusable agent guidance that should live as an installable skill rather than a one-off prompt. Covers choosing scope (project vs global), authoring inside a plugin or skills-distribution repo (write in the repo's own layout, never install), the SKILL.md frontmatter contract, progressive-disclosure structure, evaluating the skill, and installing it into the user's editors.Writing★ 4.7K
- skill-creatorhimself65/finance-skillsCreate, improve, and evaluate agent skills (SKILL.md plus reference files). Use this skill whenever the user wants to build, scaffold, or design a new skill, improve or fix an existing skill that isn't working well, score or benchmark a skill's quality or run evals on it, or turn a repeated manual workflow into a skill ("I keep doing X manually", "can you remember how to do X", "turn this into a skill").Design★ 3.4K
- skill-progressive-disclosure-designsamber/cc-skillsDecide how to split skill content between SKILL.md and reference files for context efficiency and reliable triggering. Use this whenever creating a new Claude skill, refactoring an existing one, or when a SKILL.md is growing past 300-400 lines. Also trigger when the user mentions "progressive disclosure", "reference files", "splitting skills", "skill bundling", "context window for skills", "SKILL.md too long", "what goes in references/", "skill structure", or expresses any uncertainty about where to put content within a skill. Use this even if the user phrases the question as a triggering problem ("how do I make my skill trigger better"), because that question is often confused with the splitting question and needs to be disentangled first.Design★ 236
- skill-debriefcomputerlovetech/agrDebrief an AI agent skill (SKILL.md) after using it — capture session feedback or a retrospective and fold it back into the skill. Use whenever the user says: "debrief the X skill", "let's debrief X", "retrospective on X", "feedback on X skill", "improve the X skill", "update the X skill", "let's revise X based on what we just did", "the X skill should also handle Y", "X didn't trigger when it should have", or otherwise wants to capture lessons from a session back into the skill that drove it. Handles in-repo skills (under skills/) by editing the source, committing, and re-installing via `agr upgrade`. Handles remote/upstream skills by offering to fork them in-repo or to file a GitHub issue via `gh`. Do NOT use for greenfield skill authoring (a separate concern — see `anthropics/skills/skill-creator`) or for installing / syncing / removing skills (use the `agr` CLI directly).Writing★ 453

- create-skillCherryHQ/cherry-studioCreate a new skill in the current repository. Use when the user wants to create/add a new skill, or mentions creating a skill from scratch.
