Four Departments Join Forces to Say No to 'Quick-Assembly' Vehicles

On the 10th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and three other departments publicly released a notice (for public comment) on further strengthening management regarding automotive product innovation design and R&D testing verification. The Automotive Product Innovation Design Technical Guidelines specify testing and verification requirements for virtual controls, door handles, new human-machine interaction systems, high-angle seats, and more. Industry insiders widely believe that the new regulations issued by the four departments represent a firm stance against 'quick-assembly' vehicles. Recently, public opinion has closely followed the incident involving the brake pedal bracket breaking on the Zeekr V800, with discussions focusing on vehicle safety, especially for so-called 'quick-assembly' new energy vehicles. While an authoritative investigation is still pending, one fact remains undeniable: a car's brake pedal should never break while being driven! 'Stability' is a more enduring form of 'speed.' In recent years, China's automotive industry, particularly the new energy vehicle sector, has achieved leapfrog development. The hard-won industrial ecosystem, social trust, and consumer reputation must be jointly safeguarded by all parties in the industry. Innovation will not slow down due to meticulous refinement; safety is the foundation that allows Chinese cars to run ever more steadily.
