skill-authoring
From the author
Use this skill when creating, editing, or reviewing an Unreal Engine Agent Skill, a named bundle of instructions registered with the unreal-mcp server (distinct from Claude Code's harness skills under `.claude/skills/`). Trigger when the user wants to add or change a skill that the in-editor agent will load. Concrete triggers: 'create a new Agent Skill', 'add a skill for X workflow', 'edit/update this skill', 'review my skill', 'make a Python skill class', 'create a skill UAsset', 'register a skill so Claude/an agent picks it up'; writing or editing a `SKILL.md` inside a UE plugin's `Skills/` or `Python/skills/` folder; defining a Python skill class registered with the skill registry; calling `CreateSkill`, `ListSkills`, or `GetSkills` MCP tools; designing a skill's name, description, or instruction body. SKIP for: authoring a toolset (use create-toolset), invoking an existing skill at runtime (use unreal-mcp), editing harness-level Claude Code skills under `.claude/skills/` or `~/.claude/skills/`, or generic

npx skills add thrixel/build-world --skill skill-authoring -a claude-code
Installs to .claude/skills/skill-authoring/ · Each command fetches the skill straight from GitHub with the open skills CLI.
Byte-identical to the scanned commit, with the repository’s licence and a SOURCE.txt.

- create-toolsetthrixel/build-worldUse this skill when authoring or extending an Unreal Engine toolset, a class of static, AI-callable functions registered with `ToolsetRegistry` and exposed through the unreal-mcp server. Trigger when the user wants to add, expose, or register a new tool method, create a new toolset, or extend an existing one such as `BlueprintTools`, `StaticMeshTools`, `ObjectTools`, `LevelTools`, or `MaterialTools`. Concrete triggers: 'add a tool to X', 'expose this via MCP', 'register a function so Claude/the agent can call it', 'wire this into the toolset registry', 'create a new toolset for Y', 'add a Python toolset', 'make this AI-callable'; adding a `static` method to a `*Tools.cpp/.h/.py` file; editing files under a `Toolsets/` folder; designing tool parameters, return types, or struct schemas for a toolset. SKIP for: invoking existing tools at runtime (use unreal-mcp instead), authoring an Agent Skill (use skill-authoring), generic refactors that happen to touch a toolset file but don't add or redesign a tool, or unreWriting★ 104
- skill-writergetsentry/skillsCreate, synthesize, and iteratively improve agent skills following the Agent Skills specification. Use when asked to "create a skill", "write a skill", "synthesize sources into a skill", "improve a skill from positive/negative examples", "update a skill", or "maintain skill docs and registration". - claude-code-masteryborghei/Claude-SkillsUse when the user asks to "optimize CLAUDE.md", "create a new skill", "write a custom agent", "configure hooks", "manage context window", "set up MCP servers", "scaffold a skill package", "analyze token budget", "create subagents", "configure permissions", "set up worktrees", or "integrate Claude Code with editors". Covers Claude Code CLI mastery, skill authoring, context engineering, hooks automation, subagent creation, and development workflow optimization.Engineering★ 978
- creating-skillsfvadicamo/dev-agent-skillsGuide for creating Claude Code skills following Anthropic's official best practices. Use when user wants to create a new skill, build a skill, write SKILL.md, update an existing skill, or needs skill creation guidelines. Provides structure, frontmatter fields, naming conventions, and new features like dynamic context injection and subagent execution.Writing★ 72
- agent-skill-authormatlab/agent-skills-playgroundUse this skill when the user wants to author, design, scope, or refine an Agent Skill (a SKILL.md file). Trigger phrases include "build a new skill", "design an agent skill", "scope a SKILL.md", "how should I structure this skill", "write a skill for X", "my skill isn't working well", or any request to improve an existing SKILL.md. Walks the user through an empirical, test-first process — probe the agent for real failures, design only for genuine knowledge gaps, iterate against runnable examples, and verify across models.Testing★ 191
- open-knowledge-write-skillinkeep/open-knowledgeUse when the user wants to create, author, write, or design a new Agent Skill (a SKILL.md) — for OpenKnowledge or for their editors — including requests like 'help me write a skill', 'make a skill that…', 'turn this workflow into a skill', or improving an existing skill's triggering and discipline. Also use when capturing reusable agent guidance that should live as an installable skill rather than a one-off prompt. Covers choosing scope (project vs global), authoring inside a plugin or skills-distribution repo (write in the repo's own layout, never install), the SKILL.md frontmatter contract, progressive-disclosure structure, evaluating the skill, and installing it into the user's editors.Writing★ 4.7K
