otel-profiles
From the author
OpenTelemetry profiles signal and the eBPF profiler (otelcol-ebpf-profiler, `profiling` receiver). Use when setting up continuous profiling with OpenTelemetry, deploying the eBPF profiler on Linux hosts, Docker, or Kubernetes (DaemonSet, kind, k3d), building a profiles pipeline, sending OTLP profiles to Pyroscope, Grafana Cloud Profiles, or another backend, getting flame graphs from OTel, enabling off-CPU profiling, or debugging profiler errors about tracefs, PID namespaces, missing pods, or the service.profilesSupport feature gate. Not for SDK tracing or metrics setup.

- opentelemetrygrafana/skillsInstrument any app with OpenTelemetry and ship metrics / logs / traces to Grafana Cloud or self-hosted Mimir / Loki / Tempo / Pyroscope. Covers SDK auto-instrumentation for Go, Java (Grafana JVM agent), Python (`opentelemetry-instrument`), Node.js, .NET (`Grafana.OpenTelemetry`), Beyla eBPF for zero-code; Grafana Cloud OTLP gateway + Basic-auth (instanceID + API key, base64); env-var config (`OTEL_EXPORTER_OTLP_*`, `OTEL_RESOURCE_ATTRIBUTES`); Alloy / OTel-Collector pipelines; Kubernetes Operator inject-annotations; and head + tail sampling. Use when instrumenting a service, pointing OTLP at Grafana Cloud, switching from Jaeger / Datadog / New Relic, choosing head- vs tail-sampling, or debugging "spans aren't showing in Explore" — even when the user says "auto-instrument my Java app", "send traces to Grafana", "what env vars do I set", "OTLP endpoint", or "Operator inject" without naming OpenTelemetry.OfficialDevOps★ 290
- otel-telemetrygenollygarden/opentelemetry-agent-skillsBuild safe, version-pinned telemetrygen commands for synthetic OTLP traces, metrics, and logs. Use for “send sample traces to this collector,” “load-test an OTLP endpoint,” “generate traffic to verify a processor, OTTL transform, or tail sampling,” and “produce test data for dashboards.” Also use when choosing telemetrygen transport, TLS, attributes, counts, duration, or rate. Not for application SDK instrumentation or production collection that does not use telemetrygen.Testing★ 116

- otel-dotnetollygarden/opentelemetry-agent-skillsOpenTelemetry in .NET — DI/builder SDK setup (OpenTelemetry.Extensions.Hosting, AddOpenTelemetry, UseOtlpExporter, OpenTelemetrySdk.Create), native .NET instrumentation APIs (ActivitySource, System.Diagnostics.Metrics Meter) plus logging abstractions (ILogger), zero-code CLR-profiler agent, contrib instrumentation packages, performance tuning, and breaking-change audits. Use when adding, reviewing, or configuring OpenTelemetry in a .NET or ASP.NET Core service. Triggers on "setup otel in dotnet", "dotnet telemetry", ".net tracing", "ASP.NET Core opentelemetry", "AddOpenTelemetry", "UseOtlpExporter", "OpenTelemetrySdk.Create", "ActivitySource", "System.Diagnostics.Metrics Meter", "ILogger opentelemetry", "OpenTelemetry.Extensions.Hosting", "opentelemetry-dotnet-instrumentation", or any C# OTel question.Engineering★ 116
- pyroscopegrafana/skillsContinuously profile applications with Grafana Pyroscope and read the result as flame graphs. Covers three instrumentation paths — language SDK push (Go / Java / Python / Ruby / Node / .NET / Rust), Alloy eBPF auto-instrumentation (no code change, requires kernel 5.8+ with BTF), and SDK → Alloy receiver — plus ProfileQL queries, profile types (CPU / memory / allocations / goroutines / mutex), Grafana Cloud Profiles endpoint, and Span Profiles trace-to-profile linking. Use when adding profiling to a service, deploying Alloy as a cluster-wide eBPF profiler, hunting CPU / memory hotspots from a flame graph, comparing two profiles to find a regression, or correlating a slow Tempo trace to its profile — even when the user says "find what's burning CPU", "flame graph this app", "continuous profiling", "heap hotspots", or "why is allocation so high" without naming Pyroscope.OfficialDevOps★ 290
