rederive
From the author
Teaches a codebase by making the user re-derive its design decisions from first principles through Socratic questions, instead of explaining the code. Works on the user's own repo or any open source repo (local path or git URL). Use when the user runs /rederive, wants to explain a project they built with AI, is preparing to talk about a project in an interview, or wants to learn how a well-known project works.

npx skills add EricJujianZou/rederive --skill rederive -a claude-code
Installs to .claude/skills/rederive/ · Each command fetches the skill straight from GitHub with the open skills CLI.
Byte-identical to the scanned commit, with the repository’s licence and a SOURCE.txt.

- learn-codebasethedotmack/claude-memPrime a codebase by reading every source file in full. Use when starting work on a new or unfamiliar project, or when the user asks to "learn the codebase", "read the codebase", "prime", or "get up to speed".Other★ 103K

- describe-designposit-dev/skillsResearch a codebase and create architectural documentation describing how features or systems work. Use when the user asks to: (1) Document how a feature works, (2) Create an architecture overview, (3) Explain code structure for onboarding or knowledge transfer, (4) Research and describe a system's design. Produces markdown documents with Mermaid diagrams and stable code references suitable for humans and AI agents.Design★ 547
- orienting-codebasesoaustegard/claude-skillsInteractive codebase orientation for a HUMAN who wants to learn the code. Runs the same tree-sitting + featuring pipeline as exploring-codebases but synthesizes it into guided exercises and an HTML teaching artifact rather than an analysis document. Use for "orient me to this repo", "teach me this codebase", "walk me through this code", "learning orientation", or when someone wants genuine comprehension rather than a task completed. The audience is the test: if nobody is being taught and the goal is to get work done, use exploring-codebases instead.Testing★ 154
- teach-memagnus919/agent-skillsTeach a subject through source-grounded explanations, brief diagnostic tasks, practice, and adaptive feedback. Use when a learner asks to learn, understand, refresh, practice, or be tutored toward an observable goal. Do not use for a standalone factual lookup, doing the task on someone's behalf, life coaching, group-program design, or collecting research without teaching.Design★ 148
- oss-explore-repochiruu12/OSS-SkillsGuided codebase exploration for understanding a repo's architecture, patterns, and domain language before contributing. Not issue-specific. builds general understanding. Use when exploring a new repo, wanting to understand how a project works, or preparing to become a regular contributor. Not for learning a framework or language you have never used. Use oss-learn-stack for that.Planning★ 61
