research-the-market
From the author
Go outside the founder brief and research the real market before the plan is written: the exact communities, newsletters, and venues where the user's ICP already sits, how comparable products launched and what worked, the problem in strangers' own words, and the rivals and openings the user never mentioned. Saves docs/gtm-cofounder/market-research.md with a link for every finding. Use right after start-here and before strategy-and-roadmap, before picking channels in first-50-users or planning launch-it, or whenever the plan feels like it only repeats what the user already said.

- start-hereAIDevGTM/gtm-cofounderInterview the user once and write a docs/gtm-cofounder/founder-brief.md that every other skill reads first, so the advice is about their real business, not a textbook. Use this before anything else, or whenever the agent lacks context on the user's product, ICP, market, or stage, or is giving generic GTM advice.Writing★ 325
- map-your-marketVarnan-Tech/opendirectoryGiven a product description, category keywords, or competitor names (any combination), searches Reddit, Hacker News, GitHub Issues, G2, and Google Trends for the real pains your market experiences, then synthesizes everything into a positioning framework showing who your ICP is, what they say out loud, and exactly how to talk to them. Use when asked to understand a market, find ICP pain points, map competitors, build a positioning doc, find messaging angles, or answer who is my customer and what do they actually care about. Trigger when a user says map my market, who is my ICP, what pains does my market have, understand my market, find my target customer, what are the top complaints in X space, help me position my product, or who should I be selling to.Other★ 686
- research-marketgooseworks-ai/goose-skillsMarket research and brand watch: which market the brand is in, how big the reachable part is, what's changing, how buyers buy and what they pay, what people are saying now, and what it means for positioning. Use when the marketer asks for market research, "how big is my market", "what's changing in my category", "what do others charge", "what are people saying about us", "is there demand for <idea>", or "watch my brand / tell me if something blows up" (alerts only, risk first). Researches first, asks only decisions at the end, and delivers a readable report saved to the brand. Not for who the buyers are and their own words — use research-audience; not for a deep look at rivals — use research-competitors.Science★ 1.3K
- strategy-and-roadmapAIDevGTM/gtm-cofounderAfter the founder brief and the market research, turn them into an honest diagnosis and a prioritized, stage-aware GTM roadmap saved as docs/gtm-cofounder/gtm-roadmap.md. This is the hub the user returns to every session to see where they are and the single next move. Use right after start-here, whenever the user doesn't know what to work on next, wants a plan instead of a one-off task, or is drowning in disconnected tactics.Planning★ 325
- account-researchanthropics/knowledge-work-pluginsResearch a target company and optionally a specific contact - company overview, recent news, likely priorities, and fit against your ICP. Cross-references existing CRM records. Use when the user asks to "research [company]", "look into [company]", "prospect research on [company]", "look up [person]", "intel on [prospect]", "who is [person] at [company]", or "tell me about [company]" when the company is a prospect rather than an existing account.OfficialScience★ 32.5K
- product-marketingcoreyhaines31/marketingskillsWhen the user wants to create or update their product marketing context document. Also use when the user mentions 'product context,' 'marketing context,' 'set up context,' 'positioning,' 'who is my target audience,' 'describe my product,' 'ICP,' 'ideal customer profile,' 'brand voice,' 'tone of voice,' 'brand guidelines,' 'what have we learned,' 'log this learning,' or wants to avoid repeating foundational information across marketing tasks. Use this at the start of any new project before using other marketing skills — it creates `.agents/product-marketing.md` that all other skills reference for product, audience, and positioning context.Marketing★ 56.3K
