Musk: Terrafab Factory Will Reshape Chip Manufacturing
Musk stated that given his company's expertise in manufacturing custom equipment, he believes they are likely to 'find a way to make chips better than anyone else.' Speaking outside Tesla's Austin superfactory in Texas to a group of customers and investors, Musk said, despite currently not knowing how to manufacture microchips, 'we will figure it out.' He noted during his Saturday live appearance at the X Takeover event that he saw little custom equipment at competitor facilities, whereas his company has extensive experience in manufacturing such equipment, enabling improvements in production processes. Musk said: 'I think it can be said that this is one of the hardest things to do in the world.' 'I don't want to sound arrogant or take it for granted, but I think we are likely to find a way to make chips better than anyone else. Honestly. I don't know how long it will take. It might take several years.' (Gelonghui)
