aiqbench analysis
This research revises fidelity benchmarks for quantum teleportation, demonstrating that assuming uniform qubit distributions artificially lowers the threshold required to claim quantum advantage. By accounting for non-uniform input distributions like the von Mises–Fisher model, the study establishes higher performance bars necessary to validate genuine quantum teleportation protocols. These recalibrated metrics are critical for accurately assessing experimental results in multi-qubit systems and refining standards for future quantum communication networks.
Teleportation fidelity is higher than assumed with uniform qubit states

Quantum teleportation should surpass maximum fidelity thresholds possible with local measurements and classical communications, but benchmarks established with uniform distributions of qubits are not applicable when prior knowledge skews the input distribution. Results show fidelity thresholds to declare quantum advantage can be significantly higher than typically assumed with uniform distribution.
Tomáš Opatrný of Palacký University, Allison Brattley of Yale University, and Kunal K. Das of Stony Brook University have determined that benchmarks for assessing quantum teleportation may be too conservative. Their work establishes that fidelity thresholds needed to demonstrate a quantum advantage in teleportation can be higher than previously calculated when assuming a uniform distribution of qubits. The researchers determined the highest achievable mean fidelity for teleporting states drawn from a non-uniform distribution, specifically a von Mises – Fisher distribution, and modeled multi-qubit systems across a surprisingly broad range of particle numbers, N ∈ [1,∞). Benchmarks for assessing quantum teleportation may need recalibration, as new calculations reveal existing fidelity thresholds could underestimate the true bar for demonstrating a quantum advantage. Das of Stony Brook University determined that assuming a uniform distribution of input states leads to artificially low benchmarks. Their work focuses on the impact of prior knowledge about the teleported state, specifically when that knowledge skews the…
