aiqbench analysis
Researchers have developed a unified simulation framework that overcomes traditional trade-offs by simultaneously modeling full photonic devices and their underlying electron dynamics at the quantum level. This advancement is critical for accelerating the design of next-generation AI hardware, optical communications systems, and advanced sensors where precise light-matter interaction control is essential. By enabling accurate co-simulation without sacrificing detail or scope, this tool directly addresses a fundamental bottleneck in developing scalable photonic-quantum integrated circuits.

Researchers expand simulation tool to help design the next generation of photonic and quantum devices
Phys.org1 min read

Many modern technologies, from optical communications and artificial intelligence (AI) hardware to advanced sensors and medical imaging, depend on photonic and semiconductor devices that precisely control the interaction between light and electrons. Designing these devices, however, remains a major challenge because existing simulation tools often require researchers to choose between modeling an entire device or capturing the detailed behavior of electrons. Few can do both within the same model.
