On October 20, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning hosted a regular press briefing. A reporter asked about Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi's recent visit to four Eurasian countries and what message China conveyed to the European side regarding current friction in the EU-China economic and trade sector. Mao Ning stated that the most important message from Minister Wang's visit is that trust is the cornerstone of peace, friendship is a precious asset, cooperation is solid momentum, and partnership is a shared goal. She emphasized that overall Sino-EU relations are healthy and stable; differences in trade issues have emerged during the continuous development of bilateral cooperation and can be fully resolved through dialogue without affecting the broader Sino-EU relationship. Both sides share extensive common interests, advocate multilateralism, uphold the central role of the United Nations, and are willing to resolve international and regional disputes through political dialogue. China and Europe should respect each other, appreciate one another, achieve mutual success, and jointly shoulder international responsibilities for world peace and development.
