CSRC: Refine and solidify market stability mechanisms, further optimize futures and options product layout

36Kr1 min read

Zhang Yue, Deputy Director of the Futures Supervision Bureau of the CSRC, stated at the 2026 Shanghai Derivatives Market Forum on October 15 that this year marks the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan. The plan explicitly calls for steady development of futures and derivatives, charting a course for high-quality growth in the futures market. Zhang noted that facing new circumstances, the futures market must seize opportunities amidst challenges and demonstrate its role by serving the broader economy. He emphasized deepening service to the real economy, revitalizing opening-up efforts, refining market stability mechanisms, and improving the layout of futures and options products while cultivating foundational and strategic varieties. The forum also highlighted expanding space for industrial enterprises and long-term funds to use futures for risk management, promoting linkage between spot and futures markets and coordination across venues. Specific measures include steadily expanding the scope of designated product openings, deepening authorization of settlement prices overseas and cross-border delivery cooperation. Furthermore, full-chain risk control and inter-departmental regulatory collaboration will be strengthened, illegal activities cracked down upon, and investors' legitimate rights protected to contribute greater strength to China's modernization and the construction of a financial powerhouse.
