After KPMG Scandal, Australian Regulator to Reveal Audit Review Results for Big Four Firms
Following a series of scandals that have severely impacted the industry, Australia's corporate regulator plans to release partial findings from its review of 'Big Four' audit and consulting firms by the end of this year. Earlier this year, allegations emerged that KPMG Australia misused client confidential data to win new business clients. Subsequently, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) launched investigations into these firms, including Deloitte, EY, and PwC. According to a released speech summary, ASIC Chair Sarah Court will state in her address later this Tuesday that the review focuses on issues raised in 'internal complaints, including whistleblower complaints'. She added: 'The review is currently ongoing, and we intend to share some overall findings by the end of the year.' (Sina Finance)
