36Kr1 min read

According to PetroChina, China's first full-chain green and low-carbon ethylene project—the Dushanzi Petrochemical Tarim 1.2 million-ton ethylene project—fully entered commercial operation today (October 15). Located in the Shangku High-tech Industrial Development Zone of Korla, Xinjiang, the project serves as a national-level green and low-carbon demonstration initiative. It establishes a full-chain low-carbon technology loop integrating 'direct connection to green power,' carbon capture, blue hydrogen, blue ammonia, and green fertilizers. The facility can annually absorb 1 billion kilowatt-hours of green power, produce 900,000 tons of all-density polyethylene per year, and achieve a total production capacity of 1.45 million tons for rubber and plastic products, filling the gap in high-end polyolefin and synthetic rubber new material industries in southern Xinjiang.
