To Reduce Duplicate Development and Construction Costs, China Launches Work on Autonomous Laboratory Standards System
The China National Institute of Standardization recently released the "Autonomous Laboratory Standards System: Forward-Looking Framework and Implementation Roadmap Report (2026)," which for the first time proposes a forward-looking framework and phased implementation roadmap for an autonomous laboratory standards system. The institute is working with relevant universities, research institutions, and companies to advance standards research and development in China in areas such as laboratory terminology, equipment interfaces, and experimental data, so that different devices and software can share a common "language" and "rules" and connect and work together more easily. Experimental data will be easier to share and trace, reducing duplicate development and construction costs. This is expected to support higher research efficiency and cooperation among laboratories, and help autonomous laboratories move from demonstration and exploration to broader application. (CCTV News)
