The Yuzhou Bay National Laboratory, in collaboration with BGI Research, Huazhong Agricultural University, Southern University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University, the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and 10 other research institutions, has constructed a three-dimensional spatiotemporal cell atlas covering rice from seed germination to flowering and fruiting. This breakthrough provides new research resources for understanding rice growth and development and exploring improvements in grain quality. The related paper was published online on October 6 in the international academic journal Cell.
