IDC: Global PC Shipments Drop 20.1% Year-on-Year in Q3
36Kr learned that preliminary data released by International Data Corporation (IDC) shows global PC shipments reached 62.7 million units in the third quarter of 2026, a year-on-year decline of 20.1%. This marks the second consecutive quarter of declines, with the drop significantly larger than the 3.8% decrease seen in Q2. On a sequential basis, shipments fell by 9.1%, defying the typical trend where Q3 outperforms Q2. Supply chains have yet to recover, and demand was prematurely consumed earlier this year as manufacturers and distributors stocked up before price hikes, leaving little unmet demand for the third quarter.
