This research demonstrates a significant breakthrough in quantum physics by achieving entanglement generation over a hundred times faster than current methods using cavity-mediated nematic tensor dynamics. By operating closer to resonance and utilizing specific Hamiltonian structures, the study enables rapid creation of maximally entangled states within atomic ensembles confined to a single hyperfine manifold. These advancements directly enhance the feasibility of high-performance quantum sensing devices that rely on many-body entanglement.
Fast entanglement generation via cavity-mediated nematic tensor dynamics
arXiv:2610.11018v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Many-body entanglement in atomic ensembles offers the potential for enhanced sensing devices. Entanglement can be generated by interfacing atoms with a cavity. Traditional methods use effective two-level systems isolated from more complex atomic level structures. However, alternative strategies allow entanglement to be generated in atoms confined to a single hyperfine manifold. These strategies enable entanglement in ways fundamentally not available to two-level systems but feature extremely slow dynamics due to requiring strongly off-resonant laser fields. Here, I show that equivalent squeezing dynamics can be achieved much closer to resonance, offering entanglement generation over a hundred times faster than typical experiments. Furthermore, the Hamiltonian can be used to speed up the creation of maximally entangled states via adiabatic passage.
