Anthropic Reportedly Offers Blackstone Double-Digit Yield in Latest Chip Financing Deal
Anthropic is reportedly offering Blackstone Group a yield of more than 10% to raise funds for its latest chip deal, according to a report. The $60 billion debt financing plan, dubbed "Project North Star," will help Anthropic purchase about 1.5 gigawatts of custom semiconductors developed by Google, known as TPUs. The deal is expected to be the largest chip financing transaction to date and a key test of investor demand for AI-related debt. People familiar with the matter said a Blackstone-managed fund will invest $9 billion to buy debt backed by Anthropic's chip lease payments over the next five years, accounting for half of a roughly $18 billion subordinated loan.
