A-Share Market Value Improves Further as Listed Companies Actively Carry Out Share Buybacks
On October 16, A-share markets opened high, fell low, and consolidated in a volatile range. The Shanghai Composite Index rose slightly, while the Shenzhen Component Index, ChiNext Index, and STAR 50 Index fell slightly. Over 3,300 stocks across the A-share market rose, with more than 60 hitting the daily limit up. Turnover was 1.57 trillion yuan, down from the previous trading day. Meanwhile, several broad-based ETFs saw higher trading volume. This week, the Shanghai Composite, Shenzhen Component, ChiNext, and STAR Composite indexes fell cumulatively by 2.56%, 6.64%, 8.90%, and 8.26%, respectively, while the food and beverage and banking sectors rose against the trend. After continued volatile adjustments, A-share valuations have reached relatively low levels, and their value for money has become more prominent. Analysts believe A-share valuations now offer good value, and there is limited room for further declines. In the medium term, valuation adjustments and earnings recovery are expected to continue providing support for the market. (China Securities Journal)
