A-Share Buyback and Share Increase Wave Rises as Hard Tech Firms Act Intensively
Wind data shows that since September this year, 131 A-share companies have newly disclosed buyback and shareholding increase plans, involving a total of 29.899 billion yuan, up 292.04% year on year. Among them, 90 companies plan buybacks with a combined maximum amount of 26.642 billion yuan, up 275.75% year on year; 41 companies disclosed shareholding increase plans from major shareholders and executives, planning to increase holdings by 3.257 billion yuan, more than five times the same period last year. Notably, this wave of buybacks and share increases shows a distinct feature: a group of AI computing power industry chain companies with market capitalizations in the hundreds of billions of yuan have acted intensively against the trend. Combined with a rise in cancellation-style buybacks and sustained earnings growth, this reflects technology companies' firm confidence in future industry prosperity and their own value.
