Nearly 13,000 'AI-Modified' Violating Videos Removed in September; Over 30 Accounts Penalized
According to the National Radio and Television Administration, the special campaign against 'AI-modified' videos launched in January 2026 has yielded tangible results. Several key online video platforms recently disclosed their handling measures for September, removing nearly 13,000 violating videos and penalizing over 30 non-compliant accounts. To further consolidate these achievements, the administration will sustainably advance 'AI-modified' video governance through institutionalized long-term mechanisms starting February 1, 2026. The agency is supervising major online video platforms to deepen their implementation of primary responsibilities, strengthen daily inspections, and focus on removing violating videos that apply 'AI modifications' to classic works based on the Four Great Classical Novels, historical themes, revolutionary themes, and heroic figures, while simultaneously clearing various cult animations to continuously foster a healthy online video environment.
