SEALSQ's acquisition of Miraex completes its sovereign vertical stack by integrating photonic interconnects that bridge microwave and optical frequencies, a critical step for scaling distributed quantum architectures. This move unifies post-quantum silicon, orbital infrastructure, and sensing capabilities, directly enabling the deployment of radiation-tolerant Quantum Key Distribution systems in Low Earth Orbit. The strategic consolidation addresses a key architectural gap, positioning the firm to deliver end-to-end space-grade quantum connectivity without reliance on external vendors.

$200M Quantum Fund Fuels SEALSQ’s Vertical Stack Expansion

SEALSQ acquired Miraex SA, completing its quantum interconnect layer & unifying key components.

SEALSQ Corp has acquired Miraex SA, a Swiss developer of photonics-based quantum interconnects located at the EPFL Innovation Park in Ecublens, completing its quantum sovereign vertical stack. The strategic acquisition closes the quantum interconnect layer of its architecture, uniting post-quantum silicon, orbital infrastructure, and distributed quantum sensing. This investment, funded by SEALSQ’s 200 million internal “SEALQUANTUM” fund, of which over 65 million has already been deployed in several projects, marks a defining step in the company’s Root-to-Qubit architecture. The move also accelerates the Quantum Orbital Space Cloud (QOSC) program, SEALSQ’s initiative to deploy quantum-secure infrastructure in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and beyond. Over 65 million from the internally-funded SEALQUANTUM initiative…
