Five Departments Vigorously Promote Clean Replacement of Coal-Fired Boilers and Industrial Kilns, Fully Phase Out Coal-Fired Boilers at 10 Tons per Hour and Below

36Kr1 min read

36Kr has learned that five departments have issued a notice on the Action Plan for Comprehensive Energy Conservation Strategy. It proposes strengthening source-level control over energy conservation and carbon reduction, strictly implementing energy review and carbon emissions evaluation measures for fixed-asset investment projects, and enhancing comprehensive review and evaluation of project energy consumption, coal consumption, and carbon emissions. New, renovated, or expanded projects in high-energy-consuming, high-emission industries are to implement carbon emissions substitution or reduction replacement, effectively and forcefully controlling such projects. Coal-using projects that are newly built, renovated, or expanded in key national air pollution control regions will be required by law to implement equal-volume or reduced-volume coal replacement. The plan calls for vigorously promoting clean replacement of coal-fired boilers and industrial kilns and fully phasing out coal-fired boilers at 10 tons per hour and below. It also calls for accelerating heating retrofits of coal-fired units and supporting pipeline construction, and phasing out aging, inefficient coal-fired units and boilers. Phasing out inefficient coal-fired equipment in agricultural, commercial, and residential use will be promoted in an orderly manner.
