migrations
De la autor
Change a live schema without breaking the application on it — expand/contract sequencing, lock-safe DDL, batched backfills, and a rollback that is actually reachable. Use when writing, reviewing or sequencing a migration that will run against a database holding real data with live readers. Not for designing a schema from scratch, not for proving afterwards that a migration did what it claimed (that is database-migration-verification), and it never runs the production step for you.

- db-migrationsericrisco/rsc-harnessUse when a schema change must ship without downtime — NOT NULL, rename, type change, or backfilling millions of live rows — for the expand-contract sequence and the lock/batching discipline that keeps each step from freezing prod. NOT lock internals or EXPLAIN (that is `postgresdb`), NOT drizzle-kit mechanics (that is `drizzle-orm`), NOT PITR (that is `backups`).Date★ 255
- data-contract-migrationsmajiayu000/spellbookDesign and verify data contracts, schema changes, migrations, rollbacks, backfills, compatibility windows, tenant isolation, and API-to-database field mapping. Use when changing database schema, event payloads, persisted documents, analytics tables, multi-tenant data boundaries, or any user-visible data contract where silent fallback or undeclared fields would be dangerous.Juridic★ 288
- database-migration-verificationnahid-sparktales/agent-dispatcherProve a migration did what it claimed — before/after row counts, column checksums, constraint and index state, invariant queries, an exercised application read path, and a rehearsed rollback. Use after a migration has been applied to any environment and before anyone reports it as working, or when reviewing someone else's claim that a migration succeeded. Not for planning or sequencing the migration (that is migrations), and it does not treat a clean exit code, a green CI run, or a backup's existence as proof.Date★ 59
- data-migrationcbrock84/headcountMoves data from one system to another without losing it or corrupting it — profiling the source before mapping, deciding between big-bang and parallel-run cutover, reconciling counts and values rather than assuming, handling the records that will not map cleanly, and planning a rollback that is actually executable. Use this to plan or run a migration, assess a migration plan someone else wrote, work out why a completed migration is producing wrong numbers, or size how long one will really take.Planificare★ 2.1K
- postgres-database-migrationtimescale/pg-aiguideUse this skill for planning, testing, and safely executing PostgreSQL schema migrations — especially when working with production data or shared databases. **Trigger when user asks to:** - Test a schema migration before applying it to production - Add, remove, or rename columns safely on a live table - Change a column's data type without downtime - Add or drop indexes, constraints, or foreign keys on large tables - Understand which ALTER TABLE operations lock the table - Roll back a failed migration - Plan a zero-downtime migration strategy - Fork a database to test a migration safely **Keywords:** migration, schema change, ALTER TABLE, add column, drop column, rename column, change type, zero downtime, lock, AccessExclusiveLock, concurrent index, forking, rollback, backfill, deploy Covers: lock-level reference for every common DDL operation, safe migration patterns, fork-based testing, zero-downtime column changes, index creation, constraint addition, backfill strategies, pre/post-migration validation, and rDate★ 1.9K
- data-integritynahid-sparktales/agent-dispatcherKeep data correct over time — write the invariants down, push each one to the lowest layer that can enforce it, cover the rest with reconciliation queries, and detect drift before a user reports it. Use when deciding where a rule should be enforced, auditing a schema whose rules live only in application code, building reconciliation or drift checks, or investigating data that looks wrong. Not for sequencing a schema change (migrations) or proving one migration's outcome (database-migration-verification), and it stops before repairing rows in a shared environment.Date★ 59
