analiza aiqbench

This transatlantic partnership directly applies artificial intelligence to solve the complex plasma physics challenges inherent in fusion energy development. By linking specialized supercomputers with real-world experimental data from both the UK and US, researchers aim to train models that accelerate the design of future power plants like STEP Fusion and STAR. The initiative represents a significant step toward using AI-driven computational tools to overcome the engineering hurdles of sustainable fusion.

UKAEA and PPPL connect computers to design faster fusion plants

Quantum Zeitgeist4 min de cititArticolul și perspectiva sunt în engleză.

UKAEA and PPPL have joined forces to link UKAEA’s SUNRISE supercomputer with PPPL’s STELLAR-AI platform, using artificial intelligence to accelerate fusion energy’s development. The SUNRISE–STELLAR-AI Federation will connect the computers, enabling researchers to train AI models on results from both national laboratories and develop AI tools for future fusion power plants.

The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority and Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory are forging a transatlantic link between their advanced supercomputers, creating the SUNRISE-STELLAR-AI Federation. This partnership connects UKAEA’s SUNRISE mission-focused AI supercomputer with PPPL’s STELLAR-AI platform, and will utilize data from experiments at the MAST Upgrade facility in Oxfordshire and the NSTX-U facility in New Jersey to train shared artificial intelligence models. “Fusion is one of the great scientific and engineering challenges of our time,” says Joe Milnes, Executive Director for Engineering…
