The piece covers the AI People's Assembly in NYC, a public gathering organized by AI Now and More Perfect Union that drew local officials, data-center opponents, and critics of AI concentration of power. Readers should treat the account as one perspective on the politics of AI, and look to the underlying policy proposals and data-center disputes for concrete outcomes.
