This study presents a theoretical framework for generating tunable nonclassical light sources using spin-exchange interactions within a ring-cavity system. By leveraging electromagnetically induced transparency, the research demonstrates how coherent control of collective excitation pathways can sustain photon blockade and switch between antibunching and bunching regimes. This work advances fundamental quantum optics by offering new mechanisms for manipulating single-photon statistics essential for quantum communication and computing architectures.

arXiv:2611.07382v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Controlling nonclassical light while maintaining a finite cavity response requires selective suppression of unwanted multiphoton excitation. We investigate a ring-cavity system containing two three-level emitters coupled by a coherent spin-exchange interaction, where electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) provides resonant access to a dark-state polariton. The exchange interaction shifts the polariton resonance while modifying the dressed two-photon excitation pathways. Strong photon antibunching emerges when the one-polariton resonance nearly coincides with a destructive-interference minimum of the second-photon transition amplitude. By jointly tuning the exchange interaction and control-field strength, pronounced photon blockade with a finite intracavity population can be sustained over an extended interaction range. We further show that the relative cavity-coupling phase redistributes optical coupling between symmetric and antisymmetric collective channels with opposite exchange shifts, allowing the photon statistics to switch between antibunching and bunching at fixed exchange strength. This mechanism provides a possible route to tunable nonclassical-light sources based on coherent control of collective excitation pathways.
