Seedance 2.5 prioritizes extended duration over high resolution, offering a cost-effective solution for long-form video generation up to 30 seconds at 720p or lower. Its architecture supports efficient editing of existing footage by accepting audio-visual references, though users requiring 1080p/4K output must revert to the previous model version.
Seedance 2.5 Review: What It's Best At and When to Use It

Seedance 2.5 trades resolution for length. It runs to 30 seconds and stops at 720p. We work through what it's best at, what a clip costs at each resolution, how it compares to Seedance 2.0, Wan 3.0, and Veo 3.1 on our own catalog data, and the cases where we'd recommend a different model.

Below is what it does well, what a clip costs at each resolution, how it compares to Seedance 2.0, Wan 3.0, and Veo 3.1 on our own catalog data, and the cases where we’d recommend a different model. Best at long single takes and at work that starts from existing footage. Clips run to 30 seconds, and input_references accepts image, video, and audio assets, so an existing clip can be edited or extended rather than regenerated. Live specs as of September 3, 2026: clips of 4 to 30 seconds, 480p or 720p, six aspect…
