This research investigates the fundamental quantum limits of rotation sensing using strongly interacting bosons in quasi-one-dimensional ring traps, demonstrating how many-body correlations enhance sensitivity to slow rotations. The study highlights that accurate prediction of sensor performance requires self-consistent solutions for these correlated systems rather than treating particles independently. Such advancements are critical for developing next-generation miniaturized gyroscopes with high spatial resolution based on quantum metrology principles.

arXiv:2608.04082v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: We study the ultimate quantum limit of rotation sensing with a few strongly interacting bosons confined in a quasi-one-dimensional ring trap with two weak links. It is demonstrated that a self-consistent many-body solution of the problem is required to correctly predict the ultimate sensitivity of this strongly correlated many-body gyroscope to rotation. For both small rotation velocities and small particle numbers, the many-body quantum Fisher information becomes maximal for large interaction couplings, showing the potential of strongly interacting miniaturized many-body sensors to precisely estimate slow rotations with high spatial resolution.
