This paper introduces post-selection games, a framework that generalizes nonlocal games by allowing referees to discard specific rounds of data. By formalizing possibilistic proofs like Hardy's paradox within this new structure, the researchers demonstrate an unbounded statistical advantage over traditional methods, particularly in noisy experimental conditions with imperfect detection equipment. This development provides more robust tools for analyzing Bell tests and quantifying quantum advantages without relying on idealized assumptions.

In this paper, post-selection games are introduced, a generalization of nonlocal games where each round can be won, lost, or discarded by the referee. These games naturally formalize possibilistic proofs of nonlocality, such as Hardy's paradox, and have an unbounded advantage in statistical power over traditional nonlocal games.

Víctor Calleja Rodríguez, Ivan A. Bocanegra-Garay, and Mateus Araújo have formally defined a long-studied quantum paradox within a new framework called “post-selection games.” This work generalizes nonlocal games by allowing a referee to discard rounds, a feature that unlocks an…
