analiza aiqbench

The study uses classical and quantum simulations of a spin-1/2 chain to show that certain noise models, such as phase-flip and Haar-random noise, can speed up thermalization and help prepare Gibbs states. The reported 3.5x speedup applies to one non-integrable model, and the integrable model reaches a thermal state only because of noise. These are simulation results on small systems, so the practical value for near-term hardware depends on validation on real devices and on whether the effect holds across other noise types and system sizes.

Noise can help quantum computers prepare data, simulations show

Quantum Zeitgeist4 min de cititArticolul și perspectiva sunt în engleză.

Despite being a challenge for fault tolerance, noise can actually help quantum computers prepare Gibbs states, accelerating thermalization by 3.5x in some models.

Their simulations show a spin-1/2 chain model experienced approximately 3.5 times faster thermalization in the presence of noise. This work establishes a new paradigm where noise, traditionally seen as an obstacle, can be harnessed for practical advantages on quantum computers even before fully fault-tolerant machines are available. In the current Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum era, noise is widely regarded as the primary obstacle to achieving fault-tolerant quantum computation. However, certain stages of the quantum computing pipeline…
