analiza aiqbench

The method is a classical reduced-basis emulator for quantum many-body calculations. It speeds up access to scattering and spectroscopic data, such as excited-state properties relevant to light absorption, without rerunning full calculations. For quantum readers, the main point is that it runs on conventional computers, so its value lies in computational efficiency for quantum physics rather than in quantum hardware.

Milano Team Speeds up Quantum Simulations with New Method

Previously inaccessible scattering and spectroscopic data now emerge directly from calculations thanks to a new method that efficiently emulates the Green’s function. This “eigenvector-continued” approach builds upon existing techniques like eigenvector continuation but decomposes computation into separate offline and online phases. Consequently, both ground state energies *and* states with large spectroscopic factors are accurately reproduced without computationally expensive recalculations.

A new emulator directly calculates information about scattering and spectroscopy in complex systems, data previously inaccessible from existing methods like eigenvector continuation. Developed by Stefano Brolli and Carlo Barbieri at the Università degli Studi di Milano and INFN, this “eigenvector-continued Green’s function” efficiently separates computation into offline preparation and online analysis stages. The approach accurately predicts ground state energies while also modelling states key for understanding particle behaviour; it relies on using far fewer snapshots than the system’s overall size. The computational…
