This study establishes a theoretical hard lower bound on the time required to transport entanglement across quantum networks, defining an effective light-cone for bipartite systems with localized couplings. By proving these limits under ideal conditions without loss or decoherence, the work provides a fundamental constraint for the design of future graph-structured quantum communication architectures.

arXiv:2604.27170v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: For a wide class of bipartite systems with localized couplings, we establish existence of an effective light-cone for propagation of entanglement. This result yields a hard lower bound on the time it takes, under ideal conditions (no loss, no decoherence), to transport entanglement to a distant location (say, a node of a graph-structured quantum network), or to maintain it there.
