Rising Copper Prices Underpin Overall Earnings Growth at Related Listed Companies

Wind data shows that as of the October 27 press deadline, 10 of the 17 A-share listed companies in the Shenwan copper sector within the nonferrous metals industry had disclosed their first three quarters of 2026 results, with only one reporting a decline in net profit attributable to shareholders. The generally strong performance of copper companies is driven by the sustained surge in copper prices throughout 2026. On September 8, the three-month copper contract on the London Metal Exchange (LME) briefly touched $14,779 per ton, setting a record high; the closing price of the main Shanghai copper contract domestically again rose above the significant 110,000 yuan per ton mark. On September 10, the LME three-month copper price briefly reached a new high of $14,875 per ton. (Securities Times)
