Ding Xuexiang Attends Opening Ceremony of the Ninth China International Import Expo and Meets Foreign Dignitaries

The Ninth China International Import Expo and Hongqiao International Economic Forum opened in Shanghai on Friday, with Ding Xuexiang, Standing Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attending to deliver a keynote speech. Ding pointed out that the century-old changes in the world are accelerating, economic globalization is facing headwinds, global development imbalances are prominent, and the international economic and trade order has been severely impacted. While concerns about trade imbalances are understandable, the key lies in achieving trade balance. He proposed four points: first, adhere to shared markets and improve openness and connectivity to better leverage each country's comparative advantages, promoting balance by expanding the 'cake' together; second, deepen investment cooperation and optimize cross-border industrial layouts to create favorable conditions for enterprise development, promoting balance through integration into global supply chains; third, strengthen innovation empowerment, enhance supply quality, expand trade boundaries, and promote balance through driving transformation and upgrading; fourth, enhance mutual understanding and trust, fully consider each other's reasonable concerns, resolve differences through consultations, and promote balance by breaking down barriers.
