Deputy Director of the National Financial Regulatory Administration Cong Lin: Insurance Sector Must Precisely Align with Key Areas and Weak Links of National Strategy

At the 2026 Financial Street Forum Annual Insurance Conference, Deputy Director of the National Financial Regulatory Administration Cong Lin stated that the insurance industry must actively assume the mission and tasks entrusted to it in the new era, precisely aligning with key areas and weak links of national strategy to further enhance its role as an economic 'shock absorber' and social 'stabilizer.' The sector should fully serve the development of new quality productive forces, focusing on technological innovation, green transformation, and the construction of six networks, while accelerating the establishment and improvement of a product service system covering the entire chain and lifecycle. Coverage in technology insurance, green insurance, liability insurance, and related businesses should be expanded, compensation mechanisms for first batches and first versions optimized, and risk dispersion models for technology insurance improved; the stabilizing function of insurance on expectations should be leveraged to provide adaptable insurance products for the consumption sector to support boosting domestic demand; and the advantage of insurance funds as patient capital should be utilized through equity investment, debt plans, asset securitization, and other financial instruments to provide more long-term funding support for national major strategies, new infrastructure construction, and strategic emerging industries.
