Relevant Authorities to Roll Out Targeted Policies on Circulation of Key Commodities
At a press conference of the National Development and Reform Commission's series on striving for the 15th Five-Year Plan, officials presented updates on consolidating development support. Kou Rong, deputy director of the Department of Economic and Trade of the NDRC, said the commission will work with relevant departments to further implement measures to effectively reduce logistics costs across the whole society. With a focus on logistics network development, the effort will coordinate "main arteries" and "microcirculation," "hard construction" and "soft connectivity," and "domestic circulation" and "external connectivity," steadily advancing logistics hub construction and interconnection, enhancing the capacity of logistics corridors, addressing shortcomings in urban and rural logistics facilities, and expanding the international logistics facility network. Relevant departments will also introduce targeted policy measures for the circulation of certain key commodities. Taking fresh agricultural products as an example, efforts will further strengthen the construction of production-area market systems and inspection capabilities for fresh produce, accelerate the build-out of on-farm pre-cooling and production-area cold chain consolidation centers, build a number of major agricultural wholesale markets, work to reduce losses in fresh produce circulation, and promote the modernization and upgrading of fresh agricultural product distribution.
