This research addresses the critical verification challenge in quantum computing by proposing methods to validate results when classical simulations can no longer serve as a benchmark, moving beyond simple scale-up metrics like qubit count or circuit depth. The studies demonstrate that structured circuits with built-in error tracking mechanisms allow researchers to confirm computational integrity even amidst hardware noise and errors. While these papers are currently pre-peer review on arXiv, they represent significant progress in establishing trust for future quantum advantage claims where classical verification is impossible.

Three new papers propose ways to establish trust in quantum computer results even when classical simulations fail. In one of the studies, Israeli company Qedma participated, but the papers have not yet undergone peer review and comparisons with classical computing are ongoing. IBM's quantum computer. Photo by Ynet IBM and research groups from the University of Chicago, Israeli company Qedma (Qedma), and Algorithmiq have published three papers in which they present demonstrations of a quantum advantage—computation reaching a regime where leading classical methods struggle to provide reliable answers—as well as mechanisms designed to verify whether one can trust the quantum…
