Google is shifting its search interface to automatically display full AI Overviews at the top of results for specific queries, effectively burying traditional organic links deeper in the page. This change prioritizes generative answers over standard link lists, forcing users to scroll further to access conventional search results unless they interact with the AI box first. The rollout appears dynamic and query-dependent, signaling a move toward an AI-first search experience that could fundamentally alter how users navigate information on the platform.
