Infleqtion's appointment of Dr. Joseph Buck marks a strategic pivot from theoretical validation to engineering scalability for its neutral-atom quantum platform, Sqale. With over two decades of experience deploying fielded products and managing systems approaching 100 qubits, his leadership aims to resolve remaining physics challenges and transition the architecture toward utility-scale fault tolerance. This move underscores an industry-wide shift where practical system construction is becoming the primary hurdle for commercializing neutral-atom quantum computing.
