Anthropic is collaborating with the U.S. government to expand access to its most advanced AI models, allowing a select group of vetted organizations to test the startup's cutting-edge cybersecurity capabilities. According to a statement released Tuesday, the San Francisco-based company will permit verified institutions to use its most powerful models, including Claude Opus 5.5, Claude Sonnet 5.5, Claude Mythos 5.1, and future new models. The statement notes that authorized entities can conduct 'high-risk offensive tests' on security systems designed to protect critical infrastructure such as power grids, banking networks, and flight operations systems.
